Unique products that match Kijiji’s DNA
Kijiji approached Kotmo to propose unique, sustainable and locally-made products that will be aligned with their DNA : WOW the customer, be bold and have fun.
We create theme packages with this spirit in mind. We selected the best canadian products for employees to have fun at work, revealed their creativity and spread the kijiji spirit around the community.
The team selected the mini-board to help you express your ideas, make list, brainstorm and let your creativity speak. The vegetable leather tanned keychain with its unique elegance will follow you from home to work and around the world.
With this project, Kijiji is giving its employees unique products that have positive impacts on our environment. Here’s how.
The positive impacts of locally-made products
Economic spinoffs – We’re committed to locally sourcing our products: it’s one of our most important values. For this project, we worked with Montreal design studio Matu and Machine Design-Appliqué. Those designers bought their materials from 2 Quebec manufacturer. The engraving on the wood was done from a Quebec company and the cutting for the leather from another one. That means 7 local businesses were involved in the creation process for those two products.
Environmental impacts – Like we said, manufacturing and production were local, meaning products were only transported from one province to another. We’re all located in Montreal and Kijiji in Toronto. The products only travelled 340 miles to reach the team! So not much greenhouse gas was produced overall — that’s a win for the organization!
Social benefits – By handing out a locally made gift, Kijiji is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Canadian designers. Kijiji is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.
