A reusable bag to show off Montreal !
The InterContinental Montreal was looking for a reusable bag that was showing their city.
The positive impacts of locally-made bag.
Economic spinoffs – One of our most important commitments and values is to design local products. For this project, we worked with the Montreal designers Allstudio. The coton is purchased from a local manufacturer. The cutting, sewing and finition are done internally in our studio in Montreal. The printing is handmade by Atelier Bang Bang. That means 4 local businesses were involved in the creation process for this unique product.
Environmental impacts – Like we said, the manufacturers are located in Montreal and the production is local. Therefore the bag only traveled on the island of Montreal before meeting at the InterContinental Montreal – meaning less than 20 miles. So not much greenhouse gas was produced overall — that’s a win for the hotel!
Social benefits – By handing out a locally made product, the InterContinental Montreal is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Canadian designers. The InterContinental Montreal is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.
InterContinental Montreal – A role model for our Ecoleaders
The InterContinental Montreal can see the impact it makes by choosing a local supplier: it encourages local creativity, minimizes environmental impacts and supports jobs in the country. This strategy is in line with its mission and overall vision.
