Ecoleader: Desjardins

Gift Box for a New Baby – March 2018 –

A gift box to celebrate a new arrival!

Desjardins was looking for a gift to give their clients to help them welcome their child into the world. This gift box includes a small pair of slippers knit by hand, a memory game inspired by Canadian nature and designed by a local artist, and a picture stand to display memories to be made.

The positive impacts of our gift box

Economic spinoffs – One of our most important commitments and values is to design local products. For this project, we worked with the Montreal designers Allstudio. The wood was cut, sanded and engraved in our studio in Montreal. In total, 11 local businesses were involved in the creation process of this project.

Environmental impacts – As we mentioned, the manufacturers are located in Montreal and the production is local. The gift boxes therefore only traveled within the province of Quebec  less than 6 km. This means greenhouse gas emissions were minimized — that’s a win for the environment and the company!

Social benefits – By handing out a locally made product, Desjardins is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Canadian designers. The company is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.

Desjardins – A role model for our Ecoleaders

Desjardins can see the impact it makes by choosing a local supplier: it encourages local creativity, minimizes environmental impacts and supports jobs in the country. This strategy is in line with its mission and overall vision.
