150 bags for Canada’s 150th anniversary
-August 2017-

A special collection for the TIFF  !

Mandate

TIFF – Toronto International Film Festival – was looking for a unique product to add to their collection – they chose our weekend bag. We selected premium materials to highlight the notoriety of the Festival and created a special 150-bag collection for Canada’s 150th anniversary.

The positive impacts of a locally-made bag

Economic spinoffs – One of our most important commitments and values is to design local products. For this project, one of the Montreal designers we worked with is AllStudio. The entire production is done in our studio in Montreal. In total, 5 local businesses were involved in the creation process for this unique product.

Environmental impacts – Like we said, the manufacturers are located in Montreal and the production is local. Therefore the bags traveled from Montreal to Toronto –  meaning less than 350 miles. This means not much greenhouse gas was produced overall — that’s a win for the Festival!

Social benefits – By handing out a locally made product, TIFF is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Canadian designers. TIFF is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.

Toronto International Film Festival – A role model for our Ecoleaders

TIFF can see the impact it makes by choosing a local supplier: it encourages local creativity, minimizes environmental impacts and supports jobs in the country. This strategy is in line with its mission and overall vision.
