A unique trophy designed and manufactured in Montreal!
The Société de Développement Social was looking for a trophy that reflected their unique achievements within the city of Montreal. In order to represent the organization’s drive to fight long term social exclusion and homelessness, we created a trophy that reflects their values. The base is made of maple, the emblem of Canada, and is used to support the body; layered blue Montreal tokens, representing the various social strata present in the city of Montreal.
The creativity and uniqueness of this trophy reflects the diversity of projects carried out by the SDS and the extent of its sustainable and social impacts.
The positive impacts of a local trophy
Economic spinoffs – One of our most important commitments and values is to design local products. This product was designed and produced by AllStudio. All materials were bought locally in Quebec. The cutting and engraving of the wood and the acrylic was done in our studio in Montreal. This means 4 local businesses were involved in the creation process of this unique trophy.
Environmental impacts – As we mentioned, the manufacturers are located in Montreal and the production is local. Therefore the products only traveled from Montreal to the SDS office also located in Montreal – less than 20 miles. This means minimal greenhouse gas was produced overall — that’s a win for the organization and the environment!
Social benefits – By handing out a locally made product, the SDS is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Canadian designers. The company is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.
Société de Développement Social – A role model for our Ecoleaders
The Société de Développement Social can see the impact it makes by choosing a local supplier: it encourages local creativity, minimizes environmental impacts and supports jobs in the country. This strategy is in line with its mission and overall vision.
