A unique centrepiece for candles

Mandate

The Port of Montreal was looking for a unique, elegant and prestigious gift for their Christmas event. After discussing on several ideas, the team chose the candlelight centerpiece. To ensure the impeccable image of the Port, we selected the best materials: local and certified wood, copper, quality candles and a packaging entirely designed in our studio in Montreal.

The positive impacts of locally-made product

Economic spinoffs – One of our most important commitments and values is to design local products. For this project, we worked with the designers Aubry / Levesque. The wood, the copper, the paper for packaging and decorations are purchased from several Quebec companies. The candles come from a manufacturer in Ontario. Cutting, production and engraving are done internally in our Montreal studio. That means 7 local businesses were involved in the creation process for this unique product.

Environmental impacts – As we said, the manufacturers and production are local and located in Quebec and Ontario. From its production site in the southwest of Montreal to the head office of the Port of Montreal, the candles centerpieces have traveled  less than 20 miles. So not much greenhouse gas was produced overall — that’s a win for the event!

Social benefits – By handing out a locally made gift, Port of Montreal is putting the spotlight on local products and showing off the creativity of Montreal designers. The organization is therefore positioning itself to promote local talent.

Port of Montreal – A role model for our Ecoleaders

The Port of Montreal can see the impact it makes by choosing a local supplier: it encourages local creativity, minimizes environmental impacts and supports jobs in the country. This strategy is in line with its mission and overall vision.
